About the Artist

Immoral, She/Her

I'm ImmoralAuraa, a digital artist of whimsical emotional animals

Hello, Starlight.

I am a Queer, Black, and self-taught Digital Illustrator! I love to listen to music, singing to my mom's cat, and imagining my characters in detailed animated music videos. I tend to get lost in my head a lot!I specialize in drawing anthropomorphic animals, exploring the whimsical, mundane, and dark themes of the Human Condition.Art is currently a hobby of mine, but one of my long term goals is to become a full or at least part time freelance artist!

By the grace of the moon.

I've been drawing ever since I was able to first hold a pencil and color with crayons. The drive to create was all thanks to those good old Disney/Pixar classics and music.Previously, I strived to become an author. I naturally picked up illustrating my characters alongside writing their stories in an effort to further bring them to life.Later down the road I began dreaming about becoming an animator. I was starstruck by animated classics such as The Lion King and Balto. Bingeing those Youtube indie animated series inspiring me to do the same for my characters. I remember nearly taking up all the system memory of my Nintendo DSi with my many Flipnotes.

Onward, Little Star.

All this to say, I've always had the desire to create and tell stories through some form of art. A desire that never dimmed. That never wavered. Nothing has ever brought me as much joy and healing as art has. Art will always be dear to me. It will always be there for me when I need it most. Nothing could ever change that, and I find that so comforting. I'll be okay

"A little bit of me"

My Characters are very dear to me and each one has a bit of me in them! Interested in my many sonas and OCs? Check out my Toyhouse or Character Site!
My OC site is an indefinite WIP, so my Toyhouse is the best option at this time!

Frequently Asked Questions

Art Related

What program do you use?

I currently use Firealpaca for all my art!

What brush do you use?

I use a variety of brushes, but my main brush is the Faint Pencil on Firealpaca's brush store! Though I modified it slightly to my personal taste. I use it for resketching (when making clean sketch doodles), lineart, and sometimes shading. Other brushes I use are below:

  1. Wet Acrylic (brush store): For lineart

  2. Default Watercolor: For sketching

  3. Sketchbook-textured overlay (custom brush): For adding texture to my pieces.

  4. Grunge brushes (brush store): For adding texture to my pieces.

What tablet do you use?

I currently use the XP-Pen Artist 12 Display Tablet!

How long have you been drawing?

Since 2008! Started drawing digitally in 2014 I think.

Do you draw humans?

Very rarely. If not fully human, it's usually humanoids.

Do you use references?

Absolutely! They are extremely important! All artists have been using them since the dawn of time basically. Not to be confused with tracing!

Can I reference your art?

I'd rather you use references you can easily find online and watch youtube tutorials. These are all for free. Do not fixate on just my art. However, if there's something I'm doing that you'd like to experiment with then sure! I don't really mind as long as it's not a direct copy/imitation or trace over! I'd love see it so tag me if you do!

Can you teach me how to draw?

No, as I'm not really into teaching and definitely not for free. Again, I'd rather you use references you can easily find online and watch youtube tutorials. There's tons of FREE information out there, you just have to look! Whenever I want to learn how to draw anything, I simply type "how to draw ___" into google or youtube.
